Service Description

We completely disassemble the console and thoroughly clean the fan, heatsink and grilles, removing dust and deposits that obstruct air passage.

Between the processor and the heatsink, instead of traditional thermal paste, we apply a Thermal Grizzly PhaseSheet PTM phase change pad. At room temperature it is a solid sheet; when the console exceeds 45 °C it becomes fluid, fills the micro-irregularities between the two surfaces and, when the console cools down, it becomes solid again.

It is a PTM (phase change material), that is, a thermal material with phase change: the same technology as the better known Honeywell PTM7950, appreciated by those who want to cool consoles and gaming PCs optimally. It is often also called "phase change paste" or "PTM pad".

The advantages compared to traditional paste:

  • it does not dry out or harden over the years: temperatures remain low over time, not just in the first few months;
  • it resists the "pump-out" effect: with paste, the continuous heating and cooling cycles gradually push it out of the contact point, while the phase change pad fluidifies and recompacts without escaping;
  • thin and always uniform layer, without bubbles or uncovered areas;
  • does not conduct electricity: no risk of short circuit on the board.

The pad reaches maximum efficiency after the first gaming sessions, when it has settled with a few heating cycles. It is the right choice for those who play for many hours or want to do maintenance once and not think about it for years.
